History

Our residency program began in 2011, when Dr. Kasabian created the first new Plastic Surgery residency program in New York in over forty years. He began by taking two PGY-1’s and two PGY-2’s (who already completed an intern year in general surgery elsewhere). The subsequent year, the program matched two new PGY-1’s, and recruited two general-surgery trained individuals to fill the PGY-4 spots. The remaining spots were filled from the match by the standard process. In the beginning of the 2015 academic year, all PGY-6 spots were filled and the residency graduated its first two chief residents. To date, we have a 100% board-pass rate.
